Sanzen-in Kyoto

On my last visit to Kyoto, I decided to try and get away from the crowds in town for "hanami" (cherry blossom viewing) and headed out to the small village of Ohara - about an hour by bus from central Kyoto. I was going to see a temple garden called Sanzen-in. This really is one of the most spectacular gardens I've ever visited - an absolute joy to photograph and just to spend time away from the crowds.

Markree Castle, Ireland

This fabulous castle can be found in Co.Sligo in Ireland. Its called Markree Castle and you can stay there. A number of famous people have also stayed here over the years including WB Yeats and Johnny Cash. It was also the place where the hymn "All things Bright & Beautiful" was written. If you want to stay in a 'real' castle then this one's highly recommended.
